Child and Adolescent Counseling

We believe counseling can be deeply beneficial to children and teens—helping them grow not only emotionally and mentally, but also in character and faith. Through counseling, young people can learn to recognize areas of stress or frustration, discover their God-given strengths, and develop healthy ways to cope with life’s challenges. Our goal is to support children and adolescents in building resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of purpose grounded in hope and faith.

We provide treatment that fits each child’s unique needs, ranging from non-directive play therapy, which allows children to express themselves creatively and safely, to more directive approaches such as cognitive-behavioral and talk therapy that help children develop practical coping skills and problem-solving strategies.

Family involvement—especially from parents—is a vital part of the process. Depending on each child’s unique situation, sessions may focus on meeting individually with the child, working together with parents and child, or primarily supporting parents in guiding their child’s growth. We aim to partner with families to nurture emotional wellness, strengthen relationships, and, when desired, integrate spiritual principles that support lasting healing and growth.

Family Counseling

In family counseling, it is important for every individual to feel heard, valued, and understood. From the initial assessment through the treatment process, we seek to understand each person’s experiences, concerns, and hopes—recognizing that faith and personal values often play a meaningful role in how families relate and heal.

While finding goals shared by everyone may not always be possible, we strive to integrate each person’s needs and spiritual perspectives into the process. Our treatment draws on evidence-based research while also honoring the family’s faith, guiding principles, and relationships. In every step, our goal is to foster understanding, restoration, and unity rooted in compassion and, when desired, faith-centered growth.

Couples Counseling

There is no shame in seeking help for your relationship. In fact, Scripture and experience remind us that growth often begins when we invite wisdom, humility, and guidance into our lives. Research also shows that most couples wait too long before reaching out for help—so if you’re considering counseling, start early. Be open. Choose someone you both trust who will come alongside you as a teammate—supporting not just one partner, but the sacred bond of your relationship itself.

At 5 Stones, we help couples navigate a variety of challenges while also strengthening and renewing their connection. In counseling sessions, we work with you to build healthy communication, replace harmful patterns with grace-filled habits, recognize and celebrate your strengths, and deepen emotional and spiritual intimacy.

Our approach blends evidence-based practices with faith-informed guidance, meeting each couple where they are. We strive to create a safe, compassionate, and spiritually grounded environment—one where honesty, forgiveness, and hope can take root and flourish in your relationship.

Coparenting Counseling

We believe counseling can be very beneficial for divorced or separated parents who are struggling or who want to improve their co-parenting skills. Counseling can help parents navigate the stress, frustration, and emotional challenges that often come with co-parenting after divorce. It can also help parents recognize their strengths, communicate more effectively, and make decisions that honor both their children’s needs and their values. When desired, we integrate faith and spiritual guidance to help parents cultivate patience, forgiveness, and hope as they work together for the well-being of their children.

We also involve children when appropriate, providing guidance on how to support their emotional and spiritual health through transitions. Sessions may include joint meetings with both parents, individual meetings, or guidance primarily with one parent to address specific concerns. Our goal is to help parents strengthen their co-parenting relationship, foster a positive environment for their children, and integrate spiritual or faith-based principles that promote understanding, collaboration, and long-term growth.
